Look Again

Look Again is my first attempt at a high fidelity Unreal Engine game. It's set around a gothic cathedral and involves the player being sent in to investigate the strange mutations the priests there underwent after interacting with the crater formed by an extraterrestrial meteor. 

The game is a short experience, clocking in at around 20-25 minutes of playtime. The gameplay involves observing the mutated priests who are only visible through an old recorder and using that as a tool to neutralize them. There are several colored channels on the recorder and some of the mutated monsters are only visible on those channels. Managing several different "levels" that the enemies operate on can be an unnerving and intriguing gameplay formula.

The game has a full albeit simple and short narrative with tidbits of world-building, all of which is voice acted!

The game looks great visually, thanks to Unreal Engine 5's strong suite of features but the trade-off is an increase in file size.  Five gigabytes for a 25 minute game is excessive,  however that discrepancy will fade away as the scale of the games I make increases which is the market niche that the engine seems to be skewed towards.
